REMO FERNANDES' music has certainly evolved from the time he has been India's highest-selling rock star. He has now written, composed and recorded a full-fledged opera where he has played and programmed every instrument himself, on the life of Mother Teresa, apart from the fact that he has handled the recording and mixing engineering, the album cover design, and teaser videos. Every cent from the sales is being donated to 'the poorest of the poor', without any deductions whatsoever for his 3 years of work, studios, mastering engineer, etc.
Remo says: 'TERESA & The SLUM BUM' evolved from a 1-song intention to a full-fledged musical almost without warning. Inspiration for the next song [topic, lyrics and music] kept hitting me before I completed the previous one, and I just couldn't stop myself. I'd never worked this way before, and before I knew it, I had worked for a year and completed all the writing, composing and recording, with me guide-singing all the parts. Then started the second phase, when I started to look for the various singers for the various parts. That took another year, and I found the right singers from India, Europe, UK and the USA. All that fell into place very smoothly too. And now, after a third year of post-production, the album is finally complete and released. It's the best piece of work I've done in my life.
